Ben Morris         Melina Ramirez

Born in Kirkland, Washington, Ben Morris began swing dancing at the age of 12 after moving to Denver, Colorado.  He now lives in Orange, California, and is a graduate from UCLA with a degree is Business Economics and Accounting.  Ben began teaching in 2003, and now travels all over California, as well as nationally and internationally, to teach, compete, judge, and perform.  Both a Champion Lindy Hopper and a Champion West Coast Swing Dancer; he is a 2 time World Swing Dance Champion, 3 time U.S. Open Swing Dance Champion, Spirit of Lindy Hop award winner, a California Swing Dance Hall of Fame nominee, and a featured dancer in the movie Love N’ Dancing.  His current goal is to continue to improve his dancing in both Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing, while also expanding his horizons into other dance forms.

Some of Ben's recent accomplishments include:

  • 1st place - 2006 US Open Swing Dance Championships, Showcase Division
  • 1st place - 2007 National Jitterbug Championships, Pro Lindy Division
  • 1st place - 2007 World Swing Dance Championships, Invitational Crossover Jack and Jill
  • 1st Place - 2009 Chicago Classic, Champions Jack and Jill
  • 1st Place , 2008 and 2009 Swingdiego, Champions Strictly Swing
  • 2008 California Swing Dance Hall of Fame award winner
